Excited-state spectroscopy of single NV defects in diamond using optically detected magnetic resonance
Using pulsed optically detected magnetic resonance techniques, we directly probe electron-spin resonance transitions in the excited-state of single nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond. Unambiguous assignment of excited state fine structure is made, based on changes of NV defect photoluminescence lifetime. This study provides significant insight into the structure of the emitting 3E e...

متن کاملBroadband, large-area microwave antenna for optically detected magnetic resonance of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond.
We report on a microwave planar ring antenna specifically designed for optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond. It has the resonance frequency at around 2.87 GHz with the bandwidth of 400 MHz, ensuring that ODMR can be observed under external magnetic fields up to 100 G without the need of adjustment of the resonance frequency. It is also spatial...
متن کاملLow-field optically detected magnetic resonance of a coupled triplet-doublet defect pair in diamond.
Microwave-induced changes in the optical emission of the NV center in diamond have previously been attributed to magnetic resonance of the defect in its A ground state [E. van Oort et al. , J. Phys. C 21, 4385 (1988)]. In this paper, the focus is on the origin of the hyperfine splittings that are observed in the optically detected magnetic-resonance (ODMR) spectra at zero and low magnetic field...
